Publication Ethics

IJEN: Indonesian Journal on Education and Learning is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and integrity. Authors, reviewers, and editors involved in the publication process are expected to adhere to the following ethical guidelines:

1. Authorship and Originality:

  • Authors should ensure that their manuscripts represent original work and have not been published elsewhere.
  • All individuals who have made significant contributions to the research should be listed as authors, and authorship should accurately reflect their contributions.
  • Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must be provided, and any potential conflicts of interest should be disclosed.

2. Plagiarism:

  • Authors are prohibited from submitting plagiarized work. All sources must be appropriately cited, and any verbatim text from other sources should be enclosed in quotation marks.
  • Manuscripts suspected of plagiarism will be thoroughly investigated, and appropriate action will be taken in accordance with the severity of the offense.

3. Ethical Conduct in Research:

  • Authors must conduct their research in an ethical manner, ensuring the welfare of participants, adhering to applicable laws and regulations, and obtaining necessary approvals from ethical review boards.
  • Any potential ethical concerns or conflicts of interest must be disclosed in the manuscript.

4. Peer Review Process:

  • The peer review process is conducted impartially and transparently. Reviewers are selected based on their expertise, and conflicts of interest are avoided.
  • Reviewers are expected to provide constructive feedback and evaluate manuscripts based on academic merit. Confidential information obtained during the review process must be treated with confidentiality.

5. Editorial Decisions:

  • Editorial decisions are made based on the academic merit of the manuscript, its relevance to the journal's scope, and its adherence to ethical standards.
  • Decisions regarding acceptance, revision, or rejection are communicated to authors along with transparent explanations.

6. Data Integrity:

  • Authors are responsible for the accuracy and integrity of their data. Fabrication, falsification, or manipulation of data is strictly prohibited.
  • Any errors or inaccuracies discovered after publication must be promptly corrected through errata or retractions.

7. Conflicts of Interest:

  • Authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that may influence the research or publication process.
  • Editors will manage conflicts of interest appropriately, and decisions will be made with impartiality.

8. Copyright and Permissions:

  • Authors must respect copyright laws and obtain necessary permissions for the use of copyrighted material in their manuscripts.
  • Proper attribution and citation of sources must be provided.

9. Corrections and Retractions:

  • Authors are obligated to promptly correct errors discovered in their published work and cooperate with the editorial team to issue corrections or retractions when necessary.
